Coroner's Verdict: Unlawful Killing of Britons in Boeing Plane Crash

A coroner has ruled that three British citizens who died in the 2019 Boeing 737 Max plane crash in Ethiopia were unlawfully killed. The crash occurred due to a design flaw in the flight control software, which caused the aircraft to go into a catastrophic dive shortly after take-off. The court heard that two employees of the manufacturer deliberately deceived regulators and operators regarding the operation of the safety critical system. Prior to this crash, another Boeing 737 Max crashed in Indonesia, resulting in the deaths of 189 people. Boeing later admitted responsibility for that crash and reached an agreement with the US government, granting them immunity from prosecution in exchange for fines and compensation.
