American tourists granted retrial in Italy cop killing case.

Italy's highest court has ordered a retrial for two American citizens, Finnegan Lee Elder and Gabriel Natale-Hjorth, who were convicted in the stabbing death of an Italian police officer during a sting operation gone bad. The court threw out the guilty verdicts against them and will instruct an appeals court on the precise issues to examine in a new trial. The two men were sentenced to life in prison, Italy's toughest penalty, in the initial trial.
