Bloody Attack Suspect Dies in Beirut

A 23-year-old Syrian suspect, believed to be responsible for a deadly attack in Damascus in July, died after jumping from a building during a raid in Beirut. The suspect had entered Lebanon illegally and was living with relatives in a southern suburb of Beirut. Members of Hezbollah conducted the raid, leading the suspect to jump from the seventh floor. Two of his relatives were detained. The attack in Damascus, which occurred outside the Sayeda Zeinab shrine, was claimed by the Islamic State.
