Former Brazilian Officials Indicted for Murders of Journalist and Indigenous Expert.

Former officials of Brazil's Indigenous affairs agency have been indicted for failing to take necessary measures to prevent the murder of a British journalist and a Brazilian Indigenous expert in the Amazon rainforest last year. The ex-officials, identified as the agency's former president and former vice president, were suspected of possible malice after they became aware of a risk to the lives of agency employees but failed to act to protect them. The indictment will be looked at by federal prosecutors who will decide whether to file charges in court.
