"Kenyan Taxi Driver Faces Court for Leading Cult That Killed 400 in Doomsday Massacre"

Kenyan cult leader Paul Mackenzie and 29 associates have been charged with the murder of 191 children and the deaths of over 400 people in one of the world’s worst cult-related disasters. Mackenzie allegedly ordered his followers to starve themselves and their children to death in order to reach heaven before the world ended. The cult members lived in secluded settlements within an 800-acre area in the Shakahola forest. Mackenzie, a former taxi driver, has been charged with terrorism-related crimes, manslaughter, and torture, and has been convicted of other offenses. He is cooperating with the investigation, and the defendants are due back in court for a bond hearing on March 7.
