"The Little One" Receives 13-Year Sentence as Top Female Mafia Boss in Italy

Maria Licciardi, a top woman mafia boss known as "the little one," has been sentenced to almost 13 years in prison by an Italian court. She was found guilty of being the leader of a Camorra clan founded by her brothers and was described as the "strategic head" of a group of families dubbed the "Secondigliano Alliance," which is said to control a large part of the organized crime in Naples. Licciardi was the inspiration for the chain-smoking female mob boss in the TV series "Gomorrah."
