Two 16-year-olds in England were sentenced to life in prison for the "sadistic" murder of transgender teenager Brianna Ghey, with minimum terms of 20 and 22 years. The judge lifted reporting restrictions, identifying them as Scarlett Jenkinson and Eddie Ratcliffe. They lured Ghey to a park and stabbed her 28 times. The judge described the murder as planned and sadistic, with a secondary motivation of hostility towards Ghey's transgender identity. The pair, previously known as "Girl X" and "Boy Y," will be transferred to adult prisons when they turn 18. Ghey's family expressed that no amount of time in prison will be enough for the "monsters."
