A new report by IQAir reveals that only seven countries in the world met safe air pollution levels in 2023, with Australia, Estonia, Finland, Grenada, Iceland, Mauritius, and New Zealand meeting the safe guideline. European countries showed improvement, with many falling in the green category for pollution levels. Croatia made significant progress in lowering PM2.5 levels, while Bosnia and Herzegovina and North Macedonia remain the most polluted countries in the region. South and Central Asia were home to the top 10 most polluted cities in the world, with Bangladesh, Pakistan, and India having the worst air quality. Efforts are urgently needed to address air pollution and improve air quality worldwide.
