"Swedish Man Arrested in Predawn Raid Charged with Spying for Russia"

A Russian-born Swedish citizen, Sergey Skvortsov, has been charged with spying for the Russian military intelligence service GRU for nearly a decade. Skvortsov, who was arrested in a predawn raid last year, is accused of conducting illegal intelligence activities against Sweden and the United States. Prosecutors allege that he used his import-export business to obtain technology for the Russian military and that he aimed to acquire information that could endanger Sweden's security. Skvortsov denies any wrongdoing and his trial is set to begin in September. If convicted, he could face up to six years in jail.
