Australia Implements Strict Ban on Disposable Vape Imports to Combat Addiction Among Children

Australia will ban the import of single-use e-cigarettes from January 2023 and plans to introduce legislation in 2024 to ban the manufacture, advertising, or supply of disposable vapes. The move comes as health officials express concerns about the popularity of vapes among youth, with about one in seven children aged 14-17 using them. The Australian government aims to curb the use of vapes, which were initially marketed as a tool to help smokers quit but have become a dangerous "recreational product" and a gateway to tobacco smoking for some young people.
