Investigation underway into Legionnaires' outbreak in Polish city

Polish authorities are investigating whether the recent outbreak of Legionnaires' disease, which has claimed the lives of seven people, was the result of intentional tampering with the water system. The Legionella bacteria, which causes the illness, has been found in 113 hospitalized patients. The Internal Security Agency is conducting an investigation to rule out any intentional activity, including possible involvement by Russia. Water samples are being tested for legionella, and the water system is being treated and disinfected as a precautionary measure.
