Nikkei Asia Wins 2023 Human Rights Journalism Prize.

The winners of the 2023 Human Rights Press Awards have been announced, recognizing outstanding reporting on human rights issues across Asia. The awards, previously administered by the Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Hong Kong, are now administered by Human Rights Watch and the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University. The winners covered a range of issues, including the fifth wave of Covid in Hong Kong, the Myanmar military’s abuses against the Rohingya, and human trafficking of African students by Taiwanese universities. The awards were evaluated by a panel of journalists, editors, and human rights experts.
