"From Floods to Storms: Tragedy Strikes Libya, Demanding Accountability"

A team of Palestinian first responders from the Palestinian International Cooperation Agency (PICA) traveled to Derna, Libya, to assist in the aftermath of devastating floods caused by Storm Daniel. The team, led by Lieutenant Colonel Raed Qazmouz, described the scale of destruction as unimaginable, with buildings uprooted and swept out to sea. Despite facing obstacles due to Israeli restrictions on Palestinian travel, the team persevered in their mission to provide humanitarian assistance to those in need. The PICA purchased over 22 tonnes of food and aid, which was presented to the Libyan authorities. The floods have resulted in thousands of fatalities and displaced tens of thousands of people.
