Last Minute Rush of Migrants Across US Border as Title 42 Expires.

Migrants rushed to cross the US-Mexico border before pandemic-related asylum restrictions known as Title 42 expired, causing a potential strain on the US immigration system. The Biden administration was dealt a legal setback when a federal judge temporarily blocked its attempt to release migrants more quickly when Border Patrol holding stations are full. The end of Title 42 stirred fear among migrants that the changes would make it more difficult for them to stay in the US. The surge of migrants has caused holding facilities along the border to be far beyond capacity, and Border Patrol agents were told to begin releasing some migrants with instructions to appear at a US immigration office within 60 days.
