International Criminal Court urged to investigate war crimes in Palestinian territories

Five countries, including South Africa, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Comoros, and Djibouti, have referred the situation in the Palestinian territories to the International Criminal Court (ICC) for investigation. The ICC's prosecutor, Karim Khan, confirmed that his office is already conducting an investigation into possible crimes committed in the Palestinian territories since June 2014. Both Hamas and Israel have been accused of war crimes, with the death toll rising. Israel, which is not a member of the ICC, rejects the court's jurisdiction. The conflict is covered by a complex system of international law, and the ICC's investigation aims to determine whether specific individuals should be charged with the commission of such crimes.
