Russian Families Selling Homes in Occupied Ukraine in Search of Affordable Seaside Living

One year after the Russian occupation of Mariupol, the city is being transformed and presented as a showcase for rule from Moscow. Some Russians are even looking to buy homes there, attracted by low prices and the promise of a "beautiful city." However, satellite images reveal extensive destruction in the city, with only about 10% of damaged homes restored. The process of obtaining new flats in the newbuild estates is slow and restrictive, resulting in many buildings standing half-empty. Property rights given during the occupation may be declared void if Ukraine recaptures the city.
