Russian Shelling and Missile Strikes Continue to Devastate Ukraine

Russian forces have intensified shelling in the southern Kherson region, targeting towns and villages on the west bank of the Dnieper River, killing at least one person and injuring six others. Meanwhile, Ukrainian officials have vowed to keep fighting for the ruined city of Bakhmut, which is of "paramount strategic importance" despite the high rate of casualties. The battle for Bakhmut is among the longest and deadliest since Russia launched its invasion a year ago. Shelling across the entire stretch of the southern and eastern front lines has also increased, according to Ukrainian military reports.
