Ukraine Strikes Russian Black Sea Fleet Base with Missiles

Ukraine launched a "massive overnight missile attack" on the Crimean port of Sevastopol, hitting two Russian amphibious ships and a communications center, according to Kyiv's military. Open-source intelligence accounts and a Russian military blogger reported the use of Western-supplied, long-range Storm Shadow cruise missiles. Ukraine has been targeting Russia's Black Sea Fleet, forcing Russia to shift some of its resources to Novorossiysk and retire newer vessels from Crimea. Reports also suggest that the Kremlin is planning a new military base in Abkhazia, a breakaway region of Georgia, further distancing Russian Black Sea assets from Ukraine's coastline.
