EU Demands Compensation for Israeli Demolition of Palestinian School

The European Union (EU) has expressed its dismay and demanded compensation from Israel after the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) demolished a Palestinian elementary school in the West Bank that was funded by the EU. France and the office of UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres also criticized the demolition, calling on Israel to respect international law. The UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) reported that the IDF has demolished three schools in the West Bank in the past year, affecting 78 students. The school in question served Palestinian families in the herding community of Ein Samiya, which has faced displacement and settler violence.
