Taiwan Fires Back at Elon Musk's China Claims

Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has responded to Elon Musk's statement that Taiwan is an "integral part of China," asserting that Taiwan is not part of the People's Republic of China (PRC) and is not for sale. Musk made the comment during a discussion on American businesses in China, comparing Taiwan's relationship with China to that of Hawaii's with the United States. Taiwan's Foreign Minister Joseph Wu called on Musk to ask the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to open access to social media platforms like Twitter in China. Musk, who has business interests in China, has praised Tesla's operations in the country and opposes the idea of a US-China decoupling. Tesla is heavily reliant on China, with deliveries from its Shanghai facility accounting for over half of its global sales.
