Canada halts Sudan evacuation flights as security situation worsens.

Canada has ended its evacuation operation from the Wadi Seidna airfield in Sudan due to dangerous and volatile conditions on the ground. Sudan's rival military forces have accused each other of fresh violations of a ceasefire that is set to expire on Sunday. Approximately 400 Canadians and permanent residents have been evacuated, and there remain roughly 230 Canadian affected persons seeking assistance and information through Global Affairs Canada. The government is working with allies to find alternative departure options, including via Port Sudan.
