US Navy Evacuates 300 from Sudan to Saudi Arabia via Mobile Sea Base in Red Sea

The US Navy's high-speed catamaran, USNS Brunswick, has transported around 300 evacuees from Sudan to Saudi Arabia, arriving in the port of Jeddah on Monday. The ship is capable of speeds in excess of 40 knots and could make the trip across the Red Sea in about four hours. The US State Department did not immediately respond to a request about how many of the evacuees were American or other nationalities. Additionally, the USS Lewis B. Puller has arrived in the Red Sea, serving as an expeditionary sea base for mine countermeasures and special operation forces.
