"IDF Denies Use of 'Lavender' AI Database in Gaza"

The IDF emphasized its commitment to international law and stated that it directs its strikes only towards military targets and carries out strikes in accordance with the rules of proportionality and precautions in attacks. The IDF clarified that the Lavender database is used to cross-reference intelligence sources on military operatives of terrorist organizations and does not identify or predict individuals as terrorists. Additionally, the IDF stated that it conducts individual assessments of anticipated military advantage and collateral damage for each target and makes efforts to reduce harm to civilians to the extent feasible in operational circumstances. The IDF also rejected claims of any policy to kill tens of thousands of people in their homes.
