Iceland's Fiery Volcanic Eruption Captured from Above

A large volcanic eruption in Iceland on the Reykjanes peninsula has caused lava and smoke to spew more than 100 meters into the air, but it appears to be flowing away from the town of Grindavik, offering hope that homes will be spared. The eruption, which followed weeks of intense seismic activity, opened a 4 km fissure, but the crack is still 3 km away from Grindavik. The Icelandic government has stated that the eruption does not pose a threat to life, and there have been no disruptions to flights.
