Massive Wildfires in Alberta, Canada Force Evacuation of Thousands

More than 29,000 people have been evacuated from communities throughout Alberta as over 100 wildfires rage across the region, with 31 of them burning "out of control." The bone-dry conditions, abnormally hot weather, and high winds have fueled this "really extreme wildfire activity," which is not typical this early in the year. Firefighters are battling the flames, and additional resources are heading to Alberta from across the country. Some gains were made as scattered showers helped firefighters access areas they couldn't before. Many hospitals have been fully evacuated, and roads are closed in north and central Alberta.
