Dad’s quick thinking helps 7-year-old survive stroke at the pool
Seven-year-old Geno Mueller suffered a stroke while at the pool; his father Bo Mueller quickly recognized warning signs (face drooping and arm weakness) and called 911, leading to emergency treatment at the Cleveland Clinic to remove a clot. Geno, who has a history of heart defects and pacemaker, has recovered and returned to school. The family highlights that strokes can occur in children and emphasizes recognizing symptoms using the BE FAST mnemonic during Stroke Awareness Month.
