TL;DR

Around 10,000 people living near the Mayon Volcano in the Philippines have been evacuated after volcanic earthquakes and hundreds of rockfall events were detected. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) raised the alert level to 3 on a scale of 5, and recommended that the 6-km radius Permanent Danger Zone (PDZ) be evacuated. The Mayon Volcano is considered to be the Philippines' most active volcano and is situated in the eastern province of Albay.
