Assassination Attempt Leaves Pro-Kremlin Ukrainian Politician in Critical Condition

Oleg Tsaryov, a Ukrainian-born pro-Russia politician and possible choice to lead regime change in Kyiv, is in serious condition following an assassination attempt in annexed Crimea. Conflicting reports suggest he was either stabbed or shot. Tsaryov has been a vocal supporter of Russia since the illegal annexation of Crimea in 2014 and has been sentenced by Ukraine in absentia to 12 years in prison for calling for separatism. Russian and Ukrainian officials have yet to comment on the incident.
