Austin works to ease tensions with Ukraine and European allies following intel leak.

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin will host a meeting of international defense chiefs supporting Ukraine in Germany, where he will need to show that the U.S. is confident in and committed to Ukraine after the leak of highly classified military plans. Austin must also assure allies that the Defense Department is doing more to safeguard classified materials, particularly those related to foreign partners. The Pentagon is not seeing any wavering from allies after the leak, and the Biden administration announced another $325 million in additional military aid for Ukraine.
