"Biden's Americas Summit: Tackling Immigration Struggles Head-On"

President Biden will host the Americas Summit on November 3rd, a first-of-its-kind gathering with representatives from 11 countries to address the immigration struggles in the hemisphere. The summit aims to deepen economic integration, promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth, and tackle the underlying economic drivers of irregular migration. The Biden administration is also requesting $6.4 billion from Congress to strengthen border security programs amidst concerns about illegal border crossings. The summit comes as the administration restarts direct deportations to crisis-stricken Venezuela and negotiations for free presidential elections and the release of political prisoners. The leaders of El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras were not invited to the summit due to their non-participation in the Americas Partnership for Economic Prosperity (APEP) accords.
