Blinken's Africa Trip: Arms Sales, Relations, Accountability, and Ties.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken will travel to Ethiopia and Niger this week as part of the Biden administration's efforts to strengthen relations with African partners and counter China and Russia's expanding ties on the continent. A recent report shows that China and Russia are outpacing the US in arms sales to Sub Sahara Africa, with a combined total of 46% of the region's arms deals over the last decade. The US has contributed only 5% to arms exports to the region during the same period.
