Brazil's Top Security Adviser Resigns Amid Controversy.

Brazil's Institutional Security Bureau (GSI) chief, retired army general Gonçalves Dias, has resigned after leaked CCTV footage showed him inside the presidential palace during the 8 January far-right assault on Brazil's democratic institutions. President Lula made Dias head of GSI after his election last year. The leaked footage showed GSI agents greeting the pro-Bolsonaro extremists and serving them water as they carried out their attack. Lula's administration has called the 8 January uprising a botched coup attempt designed to reinstall Bolsonaro as president.
