EU's Borrell strengthens economic ties with Cuba through visit.

The European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, has urged Cuba to strengthen its economic ties with the EU, its main trading partner and investor, against other economic actors such as China and Russia. Borrell's statements come after Cuba pledged "unconditional support" towards Russia in the war against Ukraine and Russia signed economic agreements with Cuba in a dozen sectors. The EU accounts for 32% of Cuba's foreign trade, compared to 8% from China and 8% from Russia, and provides the largest development aid.
