"Germany's AfD Joins Far-Right Allies in EU Parliament"

The far-right populist party Alternative for Germany (AfD) is holding its annual party conference in Magdeburg, where party leaders expressed confidence in their growing political popularity and urged members to prepare for governing. The AfD is currently polling between 18% and 22% nationally, double its numbers during the 2021 federal elections. The party aims to win upcoming state elections and has vowed not to work with the Green Party.
