Germany's Baerbock warns China of 'horror scenario' over Taiwan tensions.

German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock has warned China that a war over Taiwan would have disastrous consequences for the whole world. Her remarks come amid rising tensions in the Taiwan Strait, where Chinese forces earlier this month carried out a three-day military drill. Baerbock called for peaceful resolution of conflicts and said that a unilateral and violent change in the status quo would not be acceptable to Europeans. The EU's foreign policy chief, Josep Borrell, also called for restraint on the Taiwan issue and urged China to pursue its peacemaking efforts.
