Honduras switches allegiance from Taiwan to China in diplomatic move.

Taiwan's President Tsai Ing-wen criticized China's "dollar diplomacy" after Honduras ended its diplomatic relations with Taiwan and opened ties with Beijing. Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs accused Honduras of asking for billions in aid and making willful and peremptory demands. China, which sees Taiwan as part of its territory, dismissed the allegations that it had bought Honduras' diplomatic relations. Taiwan now only has formal relations with 13 nations, including seven in Latin America and the Caribbean. Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned other countries of China's ostentatious commitments and leaving some beneficiary countries mired in debt.
