Humza Yousaf: Scotland's First South Asian Leader
TL;DR
Humza Yousaf has become the first Muslim to lead a country in western Europe as the new leader of the Scottish National Party (SNP), taking over from Nicola Sturgeon as the country's first minister. He is the first ethnic minority leader of a devolved government and the first Muslim to lead a major UK party. Yousaf's appointment has been welcomed by the South Asian community in Scotland, who hope that he will help to give them a voice and stamp out racism and discrimination.
