Hungary's Orban Challenges EU Policies and Ukraine's Membership with Controversial Survey

Hungary's government has released an anti-EU survey containing 11 questions on divisive issues such as migration, LGBTQ+ rights, and support for Ukraine. The survey includes a proposal to block further EU assistance to Ukraine unless frozen funds are released to Hungary. These national consultations, conducted by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán's government, have been criticized as propaganda tools. The surveys, sent to every Hungarian of voting age, have low response rates but reflect high agreement with the government's position. The questions in the survey accuse the EU of wanting to create migrant ghettos in Hungary and promoting LGBTQ+ propaganda targeting children. Hungary's government has also opposed EU sanctions on Russia and military aid to Ukraine.
