US President Joe Biden congratulated Israel on its 75th anniversary of independence, highlighting the ongoing work between the two countries to create a more prosperous, peaceful, and integrated Middle East. The statement aimed to underscore that the bilateral relationship transcends brewing differences between the Democratic administration and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s hardline government. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and US Ambassador to Israel Tom Nides also congratulated Israel on its anniversary. German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Latvian President Egils Levits also congratulated Israel, while President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen praised Israel’s 75 years of “dynamism, ingenuity and ground-breaking innovations” in a video message.
