Israeli Army Permits Settlers to Enter Abandoned West Bank Outpost

The Israeli military has signed an order allowing Israelis to remain at the evacuated West Bank settler outpost of Homesh, which sits on private Palestinian land. The move has prompted concern from the United States, which called it "inconsistent" with Israeli law and a "violation of international law." The order only allows entry to Homesh, while entry bans for other evacuated settlements still stand. The Homesh outpost was established on the grounds of the former Homesh settlement, which was evacuated 18 years ago.
