Macron Urges NATO to Provide Strong Security Guarantees for Ukraine

French President Emmanuel Macron stated that NATO should provide "concrete and tangible security guarantees" to Ukraine, even if full-fledged membership is not achieved. Macron also emphasized the need for a stronger Europe to protect itself and urged NATO members to implement sanctions on Russia for its invasion of Ukraine. He also praised the consistency of the Biden administration on Ukraine but said France cannot assume that Biden’s approach to European security affairs would always be the norm.
