Met Police widen probe into Reform UK donations and foreign funding

British police have opened a criminal investigation into Reform UK over potential breaches of electoral finance law related to foreign funding, following Channel 4 News’ undercover report. The Metropolitan Police’s Special Enquiry Team is expanding an existing donations inquiry, seeking footage and liaising with the Electoral Commission and CPS. Reform UK denies any wrongdoing and says it will cooperate. The probe also covers donations linked to Fiona Cottrell and payments from a company connected to deputy leader Richard Tice, and comes as the party faced a conference fallout and staff departures.
