"Operation Lone Star Implements Innovative Border Security Tactics"

Operation Lone Star, a multi-agency effort led by Governor Greg Abbott, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and the Texas National Guard, has resulted in over 381,000 illegal immigrant apprehensions and more than 29,000 criminal arrests since its launch. Texas has also bused thousands of migrants to various cities across the US. Governor Abbott has signed a package of six bills into law to expand Texas' efforts to hold the line and protect Texans from illegal immigration, weapons, and drugs pouring into Texas from Mexico. The deployment of new marine floating barriers to deter illegal crossings in hotspots along the Rio Grande River has also been announced.
