"Pakistan Leaders Demand Swift Justice for Protests Turned Violent"

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has given a 72-hour deadline for the arrest of those involved in the violence that erupted after the arrest of Imran Khan. He has blamed the PTI chief and his followers for the arson and violent attacks and has ordered the trial of cases in anti-terrorism courts. The Punjab government has set up a joint investigation team (JIT) to probe the torching of the corps commander’s official residence. Shehbaz Sharif has vowed to make it a “test case for the government” and has alleged that Imran Khan and his “armed followers” acted like the enemies of Pakistan.
