PM of St Kitts and Nevis claims lack of total freedom under King Charles III.

The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, has said that his country is "not totally free" as long as King Charles III remains head of state. He plans to hold a public consultation on whether the country should become a republic and has called for an apology from the monarchy for its historic links to the slave trade. Buckingham Palace said the King takes slavery "profoundly seriously" and has previously pledged to deepen his understanding of its impact. The issue of reparations for the descendants of enslaved Africans is also discussed.
