"Robert Fico Takes Helm as Slovakia's New Prime Minister"

Robert Fico, former prime minister of Slovakia, is set to become the country's new prime minister for the fourth time. Fico resigned in 2018 following protests after the murder of investigative journalist Ján Kuciak. President Zuzana Čaputová will appoint the new government, which includes Fico, after the replacement of a climate-change denier with a candidate from the rightist-populist Slovenská národná strana (Slovak National Party, SNS). Fico's left-populist Smer party won the national election in October.
