Saudi Arabia has proposed an eight-month ceasefire with Houthi rebels in Yemen, alongside talks on the country's future that could last up to two years. The move follows a meeting between Saudi and Houthi leaders in the capital, Sana'a, and is seen as a sign of the improving relationship between Saudi Arabia and Iran. The UN's envoy to Yemen said it was the closest the country had come to peace since the conflict began. However, there are concerns over disputes about delegations to peace talks, Houthi reliability and demands for a separate state in Yemen's south.
