Serbian citizens demand action against violence amidst political defiance.

Tens of thousands of protesters rallied in Belgrade for the third time in a month to demand the Serbian government's resignation following two mass shootings earlier this month. The opposition protesters called for the resignation of two government ministers and the revocation of broadcasting licenses for two TV networks that promote violence and glorify crime figures. The government officials ignored the demands and accused the protesters of being manipulated by foreign secret services. The pro-Russian leader, Aleksandar Vucic, organized a counterprotest in a town north of Belgrade attended by thousands of his supporters.
