South Africa's ICC Withdrawal in Doubt Amid Putin Arrest Warrant

South Africa's position on withdrawing from the International Criminal Court (ICC) has been called into question after mixed messages from the government and the ruling African National Congress (ANC). President Cyril Ramaphosa initially said the ANC had decided to withdraw from the ICC, but his office later issued a statement saying South Africa remained a signatory to the Rome Statute. The ICC recently issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin, who is due to attend a BRICS summit in South Africa in August.
