Taiwan seeks stronger European partnership beyond microchip requests.

Taiwan's Foreign Minister Joseph Wu has urged Europe to improve relations with Taiwan if it wants to acquire advanced microchip-making technologies from the island. Wu's comments come as TSMC, the world-leading chipmaking giant based in Taiwan, has not yet decided to build a new plant in Germany. Wu also called Japan and the US a "like-minded partner" and "a very good partner of Taiwan," respectively. Wu's main mission in Europe was to shore up diplomatic support for Taiwan among European leaders and to deter China from aggression against Taiwan.
